Former Manchester United and Ajax goalkeeper, Edwin Van der Sar is out of intensive care, after he was rushed to the hospital following bleeding in his brain, while he was on holiday in Croatia.
The 52 year-old former Ajax chief is now in stable condition, and his wife, Annemarie has told the public that her husband has been certified fit to go home.
Van der Sar won 130 caps for Holland, where he had a stellar career, as he enjoyed huge success at Ajax, Juventus, Fulham and United.
He won four Premier League titles at Old Trafford, and has won 26 trophies so far, as he set a world record by not conceding a league goal for 1,311 minutes in the 2008/09 EPL season.
Ice rabbit, as he is fondly called, because of his height and strength, was born in Voorhout, a former municipality in the western Netherlands, and he began his career at his hometown club, Foreholte before moving to VV Noordwijk.
Van der Sar and his wife, Annemarie van Kesteren have two children, Joe, his 25 year-old son who is also a goalkeeper, and Lynn.
