Nigeria’s new music sensation, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema has claimed that most artists are copying his branding and musical style.
He made this known in a recent interview with Rollingstone, where he said, although those copying him are not giving him the credit he deserves, but he is happy with the fact that others are drawing inspiration from him.
The Edo state-born artist was discovered on Instagram by D’Prince in 2020, and he has since grown to have a huge fan base on the international scene.
Rema charges a minimum of $50,000 for each show when performing internationally, and he has won three awards so far, including Best Male Artist, Digital Artiste of the Year and African Artiste of the Year.

His gift for music was discovered early, while singing in church back in Benin City, as he also participated in music groups in secondary school.
