Victor Osimhen and Assisat Oshoala are amongst the players, who have been nominated for awards in the male and female category of the Ballon d’Or.
24 year-old Osimhen, helped Napoli to a first Italian Serie A title in 33 years, as he scored 26 league goals in the process.
While Assisat Oshoala, who has won the Confederation of African Women’s Player of the Year award five times, was the top scorer for Barcelona Femeni last season, with 26 goals.
Other nominees are, Men Category : Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Cameroon’s Andre Onana, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou, France’s Kylian Mbappe, Norway’s Erling Haaland and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
Women Category: England’s Milie Bright, Georgia Stanway, Rachel Daly and Mary Earps, Spain’s Aitana Bonmati.
The award takes place on the 30th day of October this year, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, and to be hosted by Didier Drogba.
