Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk has responded to Yvonne Nelson, through a tweet he made on the 19th of June, as he addressed the issues pointed out by his ex lover, Yvonne, in her book, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’.
The summary of her memoir contains the life and times of the thespian, as she also highlighted how Iyanya’s infidelity caused their breakup in 2015.
Iyanya rose to fame started after he won the first edition of the MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2008, and he has since released some songs to his credit, which later got him the Artist of the Year honour at the Headies in 2013.
He lost his parents in 2008, as both passed away due to reoccurring illnesses, while also losing his elder brother in 2010, after he was involved in an accident.
The pair started dating way back in 2012, and they were always spotted together at several functions, but no one knew why the relationship didn’t last forever until Yvonne Nelson made the revelation in her new memoir.
In her words, she said, “We had a decent relationship. breakfast in bed and all the niceties of a dream relationship one could think of. I had the assurance that he was someone I could be with forever. He tattooed my initials, YN, on his wrist, and I thought that was a big deal. If he wasn’t serious about it he wouldn’t do that. In his hit song, “Ur Waist”, he mentioned how he lusted over me”.
“One can therefore imagine my shock when I returned to Ghana after one of my visits to Nigeria and someone called me from his house. The caller said anytime I left Iyanya’s place, another actress came over to him and sometimes slept over. The person felt strongly that there was something going on between them and thought I should know. That actress turned out to be Tonto Dikeh of Nigeria, one of the female celebrities Iyanya named in his “Ur Waist” song”.
In response to this, Iyanya tweeted, “So Yvonne Nelson said I cheated on her with Tonto Dike? Oh wow. I’ll respond to this later. I no go write book, but…. For now make I go watch my new video Director just send me now. Love & Trust Ft Joeboy”. “What’s the name of the person who called her from my house ? After that question we will answer if her accusations are true or false and what really transpired. “LOVE & TRUST”.”
