Frenchman, Benjamin Mendy is back playing football, after two years away from the sports, following his court case.
The former Manchester City defender was charged for rape, at Chester Crown Court in England, after he was arrested on 4 January 2021, following accusations of him sexually assaulting women in his home.
During his trial, lots of women came to testify, where they alleged that he assaulted several women, at his £4.8m gated mansion between October 2018 and August 2021, but the football player maintained that the women had wanted to have sex with him, and not the other way round.
On Friday, the court acquitted him of all charges, after he was not found guilty of the several allegations, and he was allowed to go home.
29 year-old Mendy was suspended by Manchester City when the cases came to light, and the player himself pleaded not guilty to the allegations in May 2022.
Following his return to football, Ligue 1 side, Lorient has signed the left back until June 2025.
He made a total of 75 appearances at Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles during his time, and he was also a member of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup.
